Concierge

Cartagena & the Colombian Caribbean

A private concierge for Cartagena, arranged entirely around you

Tell us when you’re coming, who’s travelling with you and what kind of days you want. We’ll send back a proposal — restaurants, boats, villas, music, transport, whatever the trip calls for. You choose what you want from it. Then we handle every booking, every driver, every confirmation, and we’re there on the ground while you’re here.

We don’t take a commission from anyone we book for you

When a concierge recommends a restaurant, a boat or a jeweller, there’s a reasonable question behind it: is this the best option, or the one paying the largest commission?

With us, it isn’t a question. We pay our suppliers their full rate and we charge separately for our own work — arranging your trip, negotiating it, and executing it while you’re here. Nobody pays us to be recommended, so the only reason we send you somewhere is that we think it’s the right place for you.

One exception, and we’d rather you heard it from us:

We do receive a commission from the jewellers we work with on emerald purchases. It comes out of the jeweller’s own margin — it is never added to your price, and buying through us costs you no more than walking in off the street. We tell you this because a concierge who hides one small thing has given you a reason to wonder what else.

Four steps, starting the moment you write to us

You tell us about the trip

Your dates, your group, and the kind of experience you’re after. There’s no form to fill in and no template. We’d rather have a conversation

We send you a proposal

Real options with real prices, built around what you told us. Not a brochure — a set of choices we think fit you, with our reasoning for each.

You choose

Take all of it, part of it, or ask us to rethink it. Once you’ve decided, we give you one final price for the whole thing, with no line items added later.

We execute

Every booking made and reconfirmed, every driver briefed, every detail handled. And once you land, we’re here — if you decide on your second morning that you’d like to do something that wasn’t in the plan, we’ll arrange that too.

What we can put together

Almost anything that’s legal in Colombia and that you’re willing to pay for. The list below is what people ask us for most often, but it isn’t a menu — if it isn’t here, ask anyway.

  • Restaurants
We have personal relationships with the owners of Cartagena’s best kitchens, which is why we can generally find a table even in high season when the booking system says otherwise.
  • Boats and the islands
Private yachts and boats with full service on board, and access to private houses on the Rosario Islands. Guests assume this is the difficult one. It rarely is.
  • Private houses
Homes in the Rosario Islands and inside the Centro Histórico — the kind that don’t appear on booking platforms.
  • Emeralds
Our allied jewellers source directly from mines in the country’s interior. If you want to buy emeralds in Colombia and you don’t know how to tell a good stone from an expensive one, this is the part of your trip where a local matters most.
  • Photographers and music
Luxury photographers who know where the light is at which hour, and musicians — from a solo player on a terrace to a full orchestra.
  • Transport
Private vehicles and drivers throughout, including intercity routes and airport transfers.
  • Events and celebrations
Birthdays, anniversaries, proposals, family reunions. Tell us how much notice you can give us and we’ll tell you what’s possible.

Two things we’ve been asked for

A family of eleven

And two completely different evenings

A family was out at the Rosario Islands with us. Seven of them wanted spa treatments that evening. The other four wanted to buy emeralds before the shops closed. The two things were in different parts of the city and the timing didn’t work.

From the boat, still out at sea, we called the spa and had them hold their closing time for the seven. Then we took the other four into the city for the emeralds. Both halves of that family got exactly the evening they wanted.

A World Cup qualifier

With one day’s notice

A client decided he wanted to be at a World Cup qualifying match in Barranquilla. He told us the day before.

We found tickets and arranged private transport there and back.

Neither of those was possible because of a booking system. They were possible because we’ve spent years building personal relationships with the people who can say yes.

The part nobody asks about until they need it

  • First aid, on every team member
Enrique and every member of the team are trained in first aid, and we can connect you with the city’s emergency services immediately if it ever comes to that.
  • Medical assistance cover, arranged by us
Whatever travel insurance you’ve bought to come to Colombia, we also take out emergency medical assistance cover for every traveller, for the entire time you’re with us — from a four-hour experience to a full week. You don’t arrange it and you don’t pay for it separately. It’s simply there.
  • Child protection, enforced without exception
Any minor travelling with your group must be accompanied by a legal guardian, or by an adult carrying documented authorisation to represent them in Colombia. Colombia’s child protection laws are strict and we apply them to the letter, every time, without negotiation. We’d rather lose a booking than make an exception to this.
  • We know who is on your trip
When you book, we take the names and identification documents of everyone participating. Nobody can be added afterwards. It keeps the group you agreed to the group that actually travels.

Frequently asked questions

There’s no fixed fee or day rate. We build a proposal around what you want, you choose what stays in, and we give you one price for the whole thing. What we charge for is the arranging and the execution — never a markup on someone else’s service.

Five days in low season, ten in high season. More is better, particularly for restaurants in December and January, private houses on the islands, or anything needing a guide in a language other than English or Spanish.

Yes. Plenty of our guests decide on their second day that they want something that wasn’t in the plan. We’ll price it on the spot and arrange it.

We keep a plan B for everything, but the more useful answer is that it hasn’t happened. Our suppliers have worked with us for years, every booking is paid in advance, and we reconfirm more times than is strictly comfortable for anyone involved.

Yes. Across the Caribbean coast — Barranquilla, Santa Marta, La Guajira, San Jacinto, San Basilio de Palenque — and, for longer trips, cities in the interior.

No. Some guests use us only for a single afternoon, others hand us their entire week. Both are normal.

Tell us about the trip

Send us your dates, who’s travelling, and whatever you already know you want. We’ll come back within the hour with questions, and shortly after that with a proposal.
